Legislative Questions

Analyst’s Recommendation:

The Department of Legislative Services recommends approval of the funding for the School of Pharmacy Addition and Renovation.

Question:

UMB should comment on the nature of the one-time, $5 million purchase of equipment and supplies in fiscal 2010.

Response:

The School of Pharmacy Addition and Renovation project is scheduled to be completed in June 2010.  The Addition requires new equipment and furnishings to be functional.   The one-time operating funding in the amount of $5 million will be used to purchase items that cannot be funded with capital dollars including, scientific equipment, instructional equipment (Mediasite, for example), robotics for dispensing labs, computers, printers, copiers, software, AED units, and housekeeping equipment.
